“I paint because I love the paint and the surprises it affords me—the creative challenge of moving it into something I find to be coherent. I paint because the process of intense concentration takes me into my ‘zone’ where time stops and I communicate with something joyful and kind. I paint things to be balanced and beautiful, because I do not see either outside of my studio. I have studied the mystics and find that my vision is similar to theirs and my way of expressing it is much my own. I have studied the place where physics and metaphysics come together and believe that it is the mind of God—my mind, your mind, and especially our minds—that line up our reality. “My artistic statement is about light and beauty. I know that everything in the world is made of light. We, as observers, take it in through our eyes and send it out through our hearts.
