Batsell was born and reared in central Texas, and has lived and worked in five regions of the United States, mostly in the southwest. He has studied under such well-known artists and teachers as Will Kendrick, Waco, Texas; Frederick Myzon, Baylor University; Miron Cook, Watkins Institute, Nashville; and Jack Jordan, San Diego. Through his extensive training and experience, Mr. Moore's paintings portray exceptional expression in a broad spectrum of subject matter, such as Westerns, Indians, Americana, California Colonial Spanish, Boats, Seascapes, Historical, and Southwest Canyons. He accomplishes unusual versatility working in a wide range of media. Mr. Moore has been commissioned to paint well-known and historical places in middle Tennessee, such as Ryman Auditorium, better known as the "Grand Old Opry". A partial list of owners of Mr. Moore's work includes Paul Harvey, Pat Boone, the late Johnny Cash, Bank of America—San Diego, and Union Bank—San Diego. Batsell has been creating artwork since he was seven years old, but for the past forty years his work in the art field has been steady and continuous. He now resides in Elk Grove, California, and is challenged day by day in the work he loves. |
